Suboxone Clinics

Local Suboxone clinics that are able to use Suboxone(buprenorphine) maintenance as treatment for opioid addiction.

Quitting an opioid addiction can be painful and dangerous, depending on the amount used and duration of their use. Suboxone clinics (buprenorphine used in treatment) offer a safe and medically supervised environment, where the patients are comfortable.

Several Suboxone clinics offer educational classes, as well as personal counseling and group therapy. In addition, they will receive guidance by a licensed professional to help you come up with a plan in succeeding with long-term sobriety. Some of the Suboxone clinics offer group counseling and private counseling if needed. Medication alone may not always be the best option, therefore it is important to explore all of the options available. Either way, there is always a need for some sort of support or therapy to resolve the issues that encouraged the addict become addicted in the first place. Behavioral health and overall mental health is just as important to ending your addiction.

How does Suboxone work?

Suboxone is a partially synthetic opioid. But, when compared to other opioids, it has fewer harsh side effects. It binds to opioid receptors and will compete with other opioids. Usually, it knocks out the effect of other opioid medications, reducing the more severe effects. It can still cause euphoria and can slow breathing, but buprenorphine reaches the ceiling much faster than other opioids. This means it will not produce harsh side effects with repeated use, and is less likely to produce addictive side effects.

Is Suboxone(buprenorphine) treatment for me?

Once an addict decides to get sober, they must research (or a loved one can research for them if they are unable) the many different treatment options. Addiction to anything is horrifying in itself, but it can be cured once they accept that they can NEVER use again. Of course there will be temptations, which is why the next step, after whatever treatment you seek, to join a support group – for those in recovery know exactly what you are going through.
